About 70 years ago in front of the house of his father in the small town of Skarzinnen in Masuria the picture was taken, shortly before the residents had to flee from the approaching Red Army.
His father has never returned to his place of birth, but has given his son this particular picture.

The original footage was filmed from a screen in a room with a smartphone-camera. The resulting footage was filmed from the screen again and so forth. The resultant recordings were edited together, dissolving into oneanother. Over time, sound and images disintegrate, while the framing becomes visible and the surrounding noises mix up with what becomes a diffuse drone.
