Anemophon
Hamburg / Hofgeismar, 2016

The Anemophon [from the Greek: anemo »wind«; phon »voice«/»sound«] is based on the principle of the tin can telephone, a simple construction of direct communication that transmits sound directly from one tin can as a body of resonance to another through a thin wire or string. This principle is known since the 17th century and is a wide known easy-to-build toy for children.

The Anemophon however only has one can which is connected to the wind-swept branch of a tree.
